<b style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box;">Super Saturday Teacher Academy Year II</b><span style="background-color: white;"> is a continuation and deepening, the work of implementing Equity and Culturally Conscious Teaching Principles (CCTP). The participants will engage in 3 Saturday professional learning sessions, grounded in the research of Teacher Efficacy and Educational Equity, the training sessions will guide site administrators and teacher leaders with aligning; mindset, instructional planning and culturally conscious teaching to reaching the academic and behavior needs of all students. The cohort will examine and implement research-based practices and methodologies through the cycle of a continuous cycle of improvement and racial/cultural consciousness. </span></span><br />

<span style="background-color: white; font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">In alignment with key district’s initiatives, many of the training outcomes will provide experiential learning for the participants, the following (but not limited to), will be covered; cultural consideration to multi-tiered system of support (MTSS); techniques to facilitate instructional planning time, understanding the intersectionality of race/culture and teaching practices, implementation of culturally responsive classroom management strategies. </span><br />

Did you miss out on the Super Saturday Teacher Academy last year? Never fear! We are bringing the series back! There will be an follow-up to this series for those of you who participated last year.<br />
<br />
Over three Saturdays, teachers will be provided clear and concrete strategies to improve their practice of working with all students. Through culturally conscious teacher principles, the participants will increase their efficacy in three essential components for student motivation: Mind-Set, Planning and Instructional Delivery. The participants will engage in experiential learning through multi-media, small group and large group discussion.<br />

The sessions will offer instructional strategies to increase student engagement in deep learning. Through Powerful Pedagogy, the teachers will learn how to empower their students to be “producers of knowledge” and not “consumers of knowledge.” The training series will guide the participants in the implementation of instructional approaches of tapping into the students’ culture and learning profile. In addition, teachers be given time to develop student-centered lessons and activities. Teachers will also understand how the principles of culturally responsive instruction can be an intrinsic motivator for students to empower the student to take on rigorous academic tasks.<br />

Over four Saturdays, teachers will be provided clear and concrete strategies to improve their practice of working with all students. Through culturally conscious teacher principles, the participants will increase their efficacy in three essential components for student motivation: Mind-Set, Planning and Instructional Delivery. The participants will engage in experiential learning through multi-media, small group and large group discussion.<br />
<br />
The sessions will offer instructional strategies to increase student engagement in deep learning. Through Powerful Pedagogy, the teachers will learn how to empower their students to be “producers of knowledge” and not “consumers of knowledge.” The training series will guide the participants in the implementation of instructional approaches of tapping into the students’ culture and learning profile. In addition, teachers be given time to develop student-centered lessons and activities. Teachers will also understand how the principles of culturally responsive instruction can be an intrinsic motivator for students to empower the student to take on rigorous academic tasks.<br />

The SVMI’s Mathematics Assessment Collaborative Performance Exams for grades/courses, kindergarten through course three (Algebra 2) are copyright protected or use in SVMI’s Mathematics Assessment Collaborative. Balance Assessment owns the copyright for all Mathematics Assessment Resource Service (MARS) tasks. All tasks are designated secure. Educators are entrusted to maintain the security of the exams under the following conditions.</div>

<ol>
<li>No BAM/MARS/MAC performance assessment task, test or materials may be used for educational purposes or administered to students without a membership with SVMI.</li>
<li>The performance tasks, exams, rubrics, and calibration papers may not be made public, other than by the owners of the copyright or a contracted license.</li>
<li>With authorization, the student task/exam papers and test instructions may be used and shared with instructional staff and educators for teaching and/or assessment purposes.</li>
<li>If MARS task is used for an assessment, all student papers, exams and assessment materials must be collected and accounted for after assessment sessions.</li>
<li>The actual student exam papers may not be passed on to another school district or become property of the student. No task may be sent home with students. Parent may view their student’s assessment in a conference setting with a representative of the school system. No student exam paper or copy of the performance exam may be given to a parent or sent home, except for exams papers from years 2002-2009.</li>
<li>The educational institution is responsible for the security of the performance exams, assessment materials and all student exam papers.</li>

Great Beginnings is a chance for us to welcome you to our district. The day begins with a welcome from our superintendent.
